AIAA-DBF

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is a professional society for the field of aerospace engineering. AIAA is the world’s largest technical society dedicated to the aerospace field.

The AIAA — DBF, competition is intended to challenge undergrad students to design, build, and fly a remote controlled airplane that can complete specific ground and flight missions. Additionally, the teams are required to submit a comprehensive design report detailing the important aspects of their designs.

SAE INTERNATIONAL

SAE International, formerly named the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a US — based, globally active professional association for engineering professionals in various industries.

The SAE Aero Design competition is a challenge to construct and optimize an aircraft tailored to the competition’s rules within one calendar year. It features 3 classes of competition — Regular, Advanced, and Micro.
